Kill Method Needed (algae)

Mmmm wouldn't the quickest way be to just buy live rock from a tank breakdown that has all the phosphates removed and just cure your current rock in a tub or another tank

Why in the world would I do that? Would end up with double the rock I need, multitude of unknowns (pests, etc), and besides this rock was procured that way, is good old rock the likes of which is unattainable now.

Rather get 20lbs of live rock that I know as well as I can know will be lively and free of pests to seed my newly-etched rock.

Have you tried running an ozone reactor? Or do you run ozone now?
I mention this because I battled a serious algae issue with multiple strains and I tried many of the different treatments and methods until I realized my ozone generator was not working at 100% I fixed it and my orp went from a consistent 280-320 up to 425 and within a few weeks my sand bed became pure white, cyano disappeared from the sand and I only have a few small patches of hair algae that my rabbit fish is taking care of.
In this process of discovery I ran Rowaphos for almost a year, managed to strip all nutrients out of the water and kill ever sps in my system.
Just for what it is worth.

You may test for 0 nitrates/phosphates, but so many others have also with the same problem. You have an excess nutrient problem, that you can not test for. Run an algae turf scrubber, and let it go to work. It is a proven, natural form of excess nutrient removal.

Patience. In this hobby, it is mandatory, otherwise, you are setting yourself up for failure.

I am six weeks out and so far everything is algae free. Kinda too free actually. I hope to add a tang soon and I think they do much better with some HA in the tank.

Best thing would be to remove the corals, invert and dose CP at 40mg/gal.

That is a good idea, maybe. Only concern I see is residual CP, although it does breakdown. It would be worth experimenting in an extra tank. I might try an experiment next winter. :) Algae has not returned in my tank. Still a bit too clean, actually.
