killer anemone?

Fellow reefers; been doing this for a little while. Fell in love and brought home an anemone (will post pic tonight once I get home) and it seems to be a killer. O.K. o.k....for the most part. I bought 8 baby clowns and it ate 6 of them. I gat a sea hare to work on my algae problem, and it attempted to eat it and it spit it out a day later...looked like it got dipped in an acid bath. 2 remaining clowns won't go near it. I though something funny when my two Tomato clowns would host it...thought it weird, but then again, many things are weird in an enclosed environment.

QUESTION IS: Is there such a THING as an anemone the DOES NOT host life and is a killer?

I think the condylactis (sp?) is pretty aggressive and not as conducive to clowns hosting. They're also fairly common and cheap. I got suckered into one early on, good thing (for my fish) I returned it quickly.

I have heard atlantic carpets eat almost anything that comes in contact with them, even clowns.

Picture of an "buttoned up" anemone is better than no picture. Often this is what we need as seen the column is very important.

All cnidarians (Anemones, corals, etc.) are predators. They will eat whatever they can catch and fit in their mouths. Not all anemones atre photosynthetic, and those that are not are very active predators.

People don't think of corals being predators as they have such very small mouths, but their prey is very small too.

You may have a giant mushroom. They guys ball up at night.
