how do you do it? aptasia x definitely doesnt do crap. i was thinking a butterfly fish, but dont know. how do you kill them?

don't know why you say aiptasia x don't do crap. thats all i have ever used with success. you are probably applying it wrong or maybe you aren't treating every one you see over a period of a couple of weeks.

your other options are peppermint shrimp, berghia nudibranchs and a copperband butterfly.

are you using the red sea aptasia x? i turn off powerheads and return pump. add aptasia x, hit the mouth initially then cover the entire anemone, then let sit for 15 minutes with no flow. turn back on the pumps, and as soon as the aptasia x blows away the anemone is back, usually within hours.

yea thats the stuff i use, i try to put the needle in their mouth and let them start to ingest it and then cover the tips of all of the tentacles. you need to cover them completely and put it on thick. let it sit for 30 min. with no flow. if that doesn't kill them then they are probably not mojano. how many of them do you have in the tank?

i have a few aptasia, and a couple majanos. just got given a few corals and they had majanos on them, so now i have like 20 majanos...

Aptasia X does the job for me.

On both Majanos and regular aptasia. Like grim said, use alot and often to kill off the colony. If you only use a dab here and there and wait a few weeks, the colony will come back in numbers.

Wipe them out when you see them, is the best route to take.

I kill them with kalk paste, which is probably similar or identical to Aiptasia X. It's a never ending battle for me, though. They always pop up in other locations. It's too bad peppermints won't eat them, because they did a great job on my aiptasia.

I use Mrs. Wages Pickling Lime and Lemon juice. Heat it up in the microwave, suck it up in a syringe and shoot them right in the mouth. They don't come back. :D

Im almost ashamed to say it, but I kinda like mine (unlike aiptasia). They are attractive (green oral disk, bright purple tips) I do kill a lot off using aiptasia x and manually removing them with a standard tip screwdriver-something you cant do with aiptasia. Ive had them right against sps, lps and clams and ive only had one coral that seemed to mind them (i forget which it was). I equate them to xenia.....

well i got rid of most of the majanos today, just cut the rock and coral where they were located completely off. then what i couldn't remove manually i soaked in aptasia x for an hour. if that doesn't work i will be using kalk paste. i will just stay on top of it.
