Kilz?

Hello, is there a particular type of kilz for the inside of the stand? I am trying to waterproof it as best i can and am getting confused by all the info. Is there something better?
Thank you,
christine

Ugh, that stuff stinks so bad.. Works great but peeeU. Hopefully you don't have to have it in your living space for the week it takes to dissipate.

Thank you for the responses, Does anyone have any other suggestions? Could i just stain the inside and add spar polyurethane.

I actually went to Sherwin Williams and got an indoor/outdoor epoxy. It went on very thick and pretty much created a lay that nothing will get through!

I like to use the oil based kilz as well - it works great as a sealer, and being white, helps to brighten up the under stand area where it is always too dark to find that one little thing you just dropped......or that fish that jumped.....

I used Kilz Premium to coat the inside of my stand and canopy. I also used DAP caulk to seal the joints. It didn't stink from what I remember. The white color also had an additional benefit in that it reflects light better inside my canopy.

Maybe your Premium was the water based version?

Of course you do. And probably about 4 others. Of course you'ill have a %$^%(@# of a time getting the lids off. Then you'll wonder if the separated goo will actually still work. Ultimately you'll have 6 cans in your garage...

if u want something thats real water proof go to the tile section of hd and get something called red guard. its about 40$ a gallon. it goes on pink and dries red. about 3 coats it will be water proof.
