Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knew what the weight capacity of a common cinderblock is? How much it can take before breaking is what I am looking for..

Any help appreciated.....

Yea, I have my two 40 gallon acrylic tanks (fuge and prop) on cinders that are stacked 4 high. I would imagine the weight capacity is immense since entire buildings are made of them.

I have my 150 stock tank sump sitting on them to get it off the floor. I have 4 rows of 3.

Sounds good to me, I am planning to put a 75 on 4x4's with 3/4" Plywood for additional support.. (Way cheaper than Gorilla Rack...)

Thanks guys and gals...

Randal, sorry to "hijack" your thread, but where is the cheapest place to get cinder block from? I checked Menards, I think it's about 90 cents or so per piece.

I have all but 1 of my tanks on them the biggest being a 125 and have used them for years. Last year when i moved I found out something though. If they get wet and dry over and over they start to brake down. A few from the old fishroom crumbled when I picked them up. I now use DryLock on them and they are water proof with no worries
