kolarscape sand?

hey...

im doing the switch tomorrow...taking out my crushed coral...adding sand.

i bought 3 bags of the kolarscape white play sand for the 55g.

It says on the bottom produced by old castle.

this is the good stuff right?

Give it the vinegar test just to see if it's Ca. based.

how should i go about doing it...ive heard about it before.

just put in a little bit of sand and a little bit of vinegar or?

and if its fizzes its ca based? if not? what am i looking for...what do i want it to do?

Take a small amount of sand, and pour a littl vinegar on it. If it's Ca. sand, it'll fizz, if it's not, it won't. If it's Ca and something else, some of it will fizz, some won't.

thanks larry...today me and my uncle(chuck)...did the switch.

Everything went well and is back in the tank...maybe ill post some pics a little later?

yea...i used some leftover sand(there was a little left in the bag). fizzed pretty good.
