Kole and Yellow Tangs

I was considering introducing a Kole and a Yellow tang into my system. The general question is whether these two will tolerate each other. I've had a LFS say yes and one say no. Thoughts on the basic question above. It's a 110 tank. These would be juveniles and i would remove one or both if they outgrow the tank.

What's the length of the tank is the real question. With tangs more length is always better. In short yes the can coexist together

thanks. i realize the ideal is a 6ft tank or more. i'm more curious if the consensus is that they can coexist.

I have had a yellow tang and a kole tang coexist in a 92 corner for a long time and they only squabbled for a day. The kole tang eventually passed away for reasons unrelated to the yellow tang. But again, every fish is different, just because mine worked well doesnt mean yours will definitely be OK. But for the most part they look different enought, given appropriate space and rock work for hiding they might just work.

They can coexist just fine. I had two purples in a 180g for 5 yrs with no aggression at all. They were purchased together at the same size. (3")

From what I've read: I see no reason why they wouldn't coexist. They have vastly different body shapes (oblong Ctenochaetus vs. diamond Zebrasoma) . They have different ways of eating algae(scraping vs. nibbling). They don't have a same dominant color pattern( brown (?) vs. yellow) . "The Marine Reef Aquarium" by Phil Hunt has a setup including both fish, along with other fish, in a much smaller tank. I think if you add them both at the same time, you should be fine.

Hi there, I used to have 2 Koles and 2 yellows in the same tank without any problems (it was a 200 gallon tank though, but only 5 foot long).
I sold the yellows later because i really didn't like their "in your face" behaviour.

The Koles were in there first, I think the yellows were more dominant.

I too would like to add a Yellow tang to my 4' 90 gallon tank with 4" Kole in it already. Would this be ok?

my yellow tang was OK with my kole tang for a few months, then murdered him over the course of a few days for seemingly no reason.

I have a adult yellow tang and a juvenile kole tang in my 100x70x70 cm tank and they work great together. Never had a issue from day one.
