kole tang aggression towards blenny

Has anyone else seen or heard of this before, I added a yellow eye kole tang and he was a model citizen for the first few weeks in the DT after QT, for the last week or so he has been agressive toward the lawnmower blenny(and no one else). The blenny hides a lot more now and when the tang passes by he jabs at the blenny if he sees him.

Being a briistle tooth I havent seen any bite marks but Im worried about internal injuries. The blenny still eats like a pig during feedings but hides a lot more now.

Im curious if this is because the blenny is the only other fish that picks at the rocks/acrylic for algae, considering there are several smaller fish the tang leaves alone.

tangs from the genus Ctenochaetus and lawnmower blennies do not mix.

when i still had my kole he would torment my lawnmower any time he saw him out. chasing him in to the rock work as soon as he caught sight of him.

i have heard other reports of this as well.

They occupy the same ecological niche in your aquarium. My Kole chases after my Tailspot Blenny every now and then, but it never escalates fortunately. The Kole also has issues with my Royal Gramma, which I can't figure out. I guess he's just an ***. :)

my kole would torment any fish he could: flame angel, purple tile fish, flame hawk, black blenny; he was only kept in check by my much larger hippo tang!

Ok thanks for the info, he only picks on the lawnmower, doesnt even look at the other fish including a gramma, anthias, firefish, small goby, dottyback etc. He does let the blenny eat while he is preoccupied with stuffing his own face

My Kole is a total turd. It pesters my starry all the time. Luckily my Starry has a few good hiding spots that it hangs out in for most of the day now. I've even seen my Kole chase the Starry into a hiding spot... Tang swims around the general area and poops on his 'lawn'.

First I thought this was an isolated incident but I've seen the Kole do it a few more times.
Total jerk.

:lmao: now that's funny right there, Need to get a video of this

Oh believe me I've tried. Problem is when I get that close the Tang usually thinks I'm gonna feed the tank and starts begging.
