I really don't understand where you are coming from......I have said repeatedly that I FW dipped my yellow tang 3 times for black ick and it CURED him and that I think in certain instances FW dips are good, they are just not nec. if you have Qt'd properly. What failed experience are you referring too? Do you just what to argue a difference of opinion so bad that you don't fully read the post? If you chose to do this with all of your fish that is your choice, no one said you shouldn't do this. Why does this bother you so much that others may not want too?

Sounds like it bothers you more than me.

The argument was not regarding whether someone wants to perform one or not. I am not telling anyone they "must" perform a dip. The original poster asked about performing one, and your response was as follows:

Plain and simple... YOU ARE WRONG. FW dipping new arrivals before QT and once again after QT is a great practice to institute, and should not be feared one bit.

You are just stating your opinion, of your observation, of how your fish "felt" during the dip. Then you use this "observed opinion" to falsely imply that FW dips are somehow dangerous or should be avoided.

I never said dangerous, I said I thought it seemed stressful by the fishes reaction. I stand by this, it did seem stressful. It is MY observed opinion and we learn from experience. Based on MY observed opinion I have shared with everyone else that I personally will not be instating a FW dip regimen on MY fish that I pay for unless I see a reason after a full QT. This forum is full of peoples opinions, that is what it is about. The original poster could choose to take any opinion he wants thats how this forum works. If you chase down everyone on here that has a difference of opinion...... well no wonder you have over 7000 post in just 4 years.

I do have question related/unrelated not being argumentative.

Why do we take such caution when adding a new fish to QT or main tank of making sure the salinities match, if we are to dip them in FW first? Why does the salinity matter then?

As far as I know, thats what the post said, thats what I meant. Meaning I don't claim to know everything, but I do not read about a lot of people on here using a FW dip as a standard practice on their newly aquired fish.

Again, I don't understand your indifferrence either. You are welcome to dip all of your newly aquired fish, no one has told you not too, or has said you are wrong. I just said based on my experience, which is all anyone has to offer on here, I wil not be doing it, which is my choice.
