Kole Tang...My first DD purchase.

the ich spots are still there but i would imagine it'll take the cupramine a while to work. as for the spot on his cheek, it's completely gone. yay! i think it might have been a little scrape he got from jetting around the tank. i had one piece of live rock in there but have taken that out and replaced it with more pvc.

he's eating everything i give him and begging for more.

i have never had to use copper treatment before. how long before the ich spots are no longer visible? i know that doesn't mean he's cured but i'm just wondering how long before i don't actually see it.

After a couple weeks, shouldn't see spots on the fish.

he finally stopped wiggling long enough for a picture, crappy though it is. his color is much more vibrant than the picture shows. of course, he's under a cheapo light so that doesn't help. he's eating formula 2 like it's his last meal. LOL

My guy has lost almost all of his color overnight. His color is faded so bad that you can barely see his stripes. Really strange. I wonder if he got into some kind of scrap overnight and is super stressed. He is swimming and acting normal, just really really pale.

Ugh....always something.

yikes!! do they "fade" when they sleep? hopefully, it's just some sort of stress and he will come out of it. keep us posted!!

ellis, how is he? i was doing some reading and most things i saw said their color can fade if they don't have enough algae in their diet. most suggested offering more nori.

I read that also. He gets nori everyday so I don't think that is it. I think he was fighting with my flasher wrasse all night and either chased him into hiding or killed him. I have not seen my Carpenters Wrasse all day...

The good news is the Kole's color has steadily been returning throughout the day. Although my Hydras just went into thunderstorm mode so hopefully that does not spook him back into fade mode...lol

whew, glad to see he's coming back but yikes, sorry about your wrasse! hope he turns up for you!! i have a male mccosker's in my dt. when the time comes to put the tang in, i'm planning to do it after lights out at night. hopefully that will discourage any shenanigans!

did my first tt this morning. the tang took it all in stride, hasn't even been hidden in the pvc, he's out swimming in the open. :)

Good luck with the TT. I'm going through the same thing. The biggest bummer for me was having to tear down my fully cycled QT and start over. I hate Ich. It's a good thing they are so small or they would surly take over the world.

yeah, same for me. my qt had been up for a couple of months. oh well, i guess it's a small price to pay to save this fish.

Goodluck with the TT Nina. I think next time I do a QT, I will give it a try.

In other news, still no signs of Carpenter's Wrassee. However, the color has fully returned to my Kole, so I am happy about that. I wish I would have taken a picture of him yesterday. He was almost translucent...pretty scary.

nothing seems to phase this fish. as soon as i put him in the 2nd tank, he was swimming around like he owned the place (which i guess he does!). he is eating great and looking really good. the spot on his side and the one on his fin are both gone. he still has one on his tail fin.

it has been a little labor intensive but i just dragged everything out on the deck, soaked it in a bleach solution, rinsed, and then laid everything out in the sun to dry. went out a little while ago to bring everything in and apparently, some bird thought the tank would make a good toilet. what are the odds??!!?? LOL

hope your wrasse is just in hiding and glad to know your tang is back to his old self!!

Ha! My buddy just spotted my Carpenter's in the overflow. I drained it, netted him, and tossed him back in the DT. Tomorrow's chore is to make the top for tank. I already bought the the clear mesh from BRS, the screen framing, and everything else I need. Of course when I just sat down to make it my Dremel dies :(

squeeee!!! glad your wrasse is back among the living!

dead dremel...yeah, i know all about that. i have been working for several weeks getting my female dane used to having her nails done. a few days ago, we were really making progress but then she pulled away just as it died. now i think she thinks if she pulls away, she can break it all by herself. oy!

I made a run to lowes and picked up a new one. I got one of two covers done, but I really hate it. I have not run a cover on this tank in 3 years and really enjoy being able to look down into the water and having easy access to the tank. I may just have to accept that the Wrasse will most likely jump and limit my fish to non known jumpers.

second tt done this morning. tang is swimming around like "hey, i remember this place!"

lol any fish can and will jump...some are just more prone to it. Glad to hear you found the wrasse, I want to add one as the last fish into my 75g.
