Koralia 6

I just talked to Marine Depot and the controllable ones can only be plugged into the Koralia wavemaker. Not sure now what to get. I am contemplating about getting a MP40. Would that be enough for a 6 ft tank?

hydor makes 3 series of pumps, k1-4 standards, k1-4 contorlable which can only be used with thier controllers, and the mangnum series 5-8 which can be used on any wavemaker.

thanks for clarifying that--that's what I thought.

the preferred level of flow for your tank would be 2000-4000 gph

With 3 k4's you are at 3600 gph which would be excellent.

At roughly 40 bucks a piece---that is pretty reasonable for that amount of flow

---somewhere buried on my blog---a poster has used the mod for a maxijet on a k4 and claimed to have acheived over 3000 gph with it.

I'll look for it later for you

you can use the impellers that come with the maxi jet mods with the koralias, but when i used the white impeller, i would randomly switch and start spinning the wrong direction. the other impeller works great, but i dont think it is a considerable increase, prob 1600-1800gph, but i have no facts to support that.
