Korallin 1501 Ca reactor Question

Just started using this reactor a few weeks ago. I can't understand how to raise my cal levels. When I increase my drip rate my alk goes up ! What raises the cal level? The reactor PH is 6.5 and kept there by a controller. Currently my alk is 11dhk and my cal is 380 with a mag of 1400. I am using Reborn media in the reactor. Any ideas?

Thanks
Ed

The reactor doses alkalinity and calcium together in a fixed ratio, about 1 meq/L per 20 ppm of calcium. To raise just the calcium, a calcium chloride product, like Turbo Calcium, is best.

I do have Turbo cal.
I just though I would not need it.
Is it just to bring up the level and the reactor maintains it?

Thanks
Ed

Like Jonathan said, you will want to make a one time correction to the level you want and then set your reactor up to maintain it.

If you have Turbo Calcium, use the Reef Chemicals Calculator to make your correction and then go from there. :)
