Check this crazy thing out! Just spotted it online, have never seen this one before.

That photo is pretty close to what it looks in person. I only live about a hours drive from Rudy (golden basket) and stop by at least once or twice a month.

Yes its real. Rudy has some great stuff. The only reason its so much money is that people will pay that. But it is unique and very awesome.

I cant believe someone would pay that kind of money for a polyp. There should put a cap on prices on polyps, things are just way too crazy now and days.

It is hard to believe that the polyp is really like that and someone actually bought it.
I think it's just a joke.

Grandis.

To each to his/her own. I think that will probably hit the 1K mark for 2 polyps due to the hype and the " Jones' "

For 1K i can think of a lot of things I can buy for my reef tank or Coral / fish / inverts mix. But that's where this hobby is now, like it or not.:deadhorse1: Im not telling folks how to use their money, enjoy it how you please all I know back in the day, you would have never see this absurd pricing " IN GENERAL " for single polyps. im not one to keep up with the jones nor be on top.

referring to the comparison to one's neighbor as a benchmark for social caste or the accumulation of material goods.

I aint mad @ GB as a business they are doing and in their right to, people are bidding and paying the price and driving it up, that's not GB fault. GB has always been good to me and I have nothing against em. I will continue to do business with GB as i've done for years.

Who ever wins that final bid, I just hope that thing don't turn around and melt on em. that would really suck

Just saw his double Krakatoa going for $780
Buy looking at the photo, you can tell that he played with the saturation of the photo in a program like photoshop. Look at the turquoise in the background behind the Zoa. The color is very saturated. But either way, it still is a beautiful Zoa and very unique.

As Charles said, to each their own. Hell, I can get an eastern indigo for what they are selling two polyps for. To be honest, I don't really care for how it looks. I mean it looks nice but there are so many other polyps out there that are better looking in my opinion.

1k for two polyps in my financial situation is craziness however I think it is all relative. My hope is that the guy that spends that much doesn't screw it up and melt the darn polyps. We have a few people in my area, along with myself, that like to buy the higher end polyps, grow them some and then sell for deeply discounted prices till we get our initial outlay back. After that I end up sharing the polyps with friends.
