Does the paint job help keep algae from growing on it or is it just for looks?

Seems to slow it down a little bit.. but I assume algae is gonna grow anywhere it wants to if it is potent in a system... like my stamp book(55g).. The bottom and back of my frag tank is black... so I figured black racks would be great to pop the actual corals colors out. Thanks for the comments!

?? Something sure must be potent in your system.

The black definitely helps with aesthetics. That is interesting about the algae growth. Could it be that the algae just isn't as noticeable on top of the black- moreso than the paint actually slowing the growth?

I would figure the algae would be MORE noticeable via contrast on the black. So far in the Ghostbox, the rack is clean.

Superglue and plastic?
I haven't had good results with that. I seem to get better results with PVC glue.
