my seahorses often get active at the first few hours that lights go out. they swim and dance in front of the shimmering light from the tv. is this normal. all parameters are on. o2 is high and ph stable. they appear to be just behaving instictually. after an hour of so they anchor down. any thoughts?:D

ahh good to know cause sometimes its like they wake up with total activity at night for an hour or two then rest.

They are probably going after pods that come out on the glass from the TV light. Mine also seem to play with their reflection :D

My 3 reidi do this every night too...after lights out, they start flailing around in the tank like it's party time and they think I'm not watching! LOL

I thought they were supposed to sleep at night LOL The first night I had my horses, I came down to shine the flashlight on them to see what they did at 3am, and the buggers were eating pods in the rocks...I was surprised.

Also, my horses like to mate in the afternoon, or at least try...we've had one batch of fry, 2 egg dumpings, but I think some may have made it in the pouch this weekend, as dad looks a bit frumpy today.
