L.A. in wall 800 gallon system!

Thanks!

Thanks!

Very cool rock design.

Your build is awesome!!

Thanks for the kind words....The rock design was meant to be light and see through (to let the SPS do the filling in!) I used zip ties, rebar, and cement to get the caves, bridges, and branches that I wanted!

Wow... Tanks looking great. Im here in the SFV as well... Halfway between Lawrence and yourself in Sylmar :-) Would love to check out that system one of these days. Makes my 125 look like a goldfish bowl...LOL Now if i can figure out how to follow this post...

Closed Loop vs MP60s

Closed Loop vs MP60s

Very nice tank. Why did you decide close loop vs maybe 2 mp60s?

In theory it sounds like two vortecs would do the same job as two pumps...both produce similar numbers! But when I combine my closed loop pumps with the oceansmotions unit it becomes different because each pump feeds and oceansmotions unit with four ports that alternate two ports at a time...so I've got 8 returns on my closed loop!!! Also I can angle the returns to point anywhere in the tank and since I have a peninsula/three sided tank I have very few points where I can place vortec without them being in the way!

Yes I totally agree. The OM units do wonders.

Large Pillar...

Large Pillar...

For the large pillar I think i'm gonna go with encrusting monti's and maybe one or two kinds of branching sps sticking out the sides! Also I might use your idea of zoas at the very bottom!

Wow, amazing! Creds to you =) I see you mention a "special" concrete.. How does the concrete affect you water? Did you have to cure it?

I would like to know too about the concrete- I am planning to make a large palaudarium and would also like to remake my aquarium the right way with the aquascape once my new job takes off a bit lol.

The "special" concrete I used is called Emaco GP....I bought it (special order) from Whitecap Supply. This concrete is great because it does not effect the water chemistry!

Very ambitious build, George!
One thing that I noticed is these OM-4's... how do you plan to get at them for maintenance? It's hard to tell from the pictures, but normally I see them installed with unions or TUBVs so that they can be taken offline and cleaned.

You are definitely right...I went in and installed unions on all of them but the photo doesn't reflect that...I will post again with updated pictures! :D
