The moorish idol may prove difficult to keep. I would add the achilles and the powder blue at the same time (after QT). What about some anthias? In your size tank a nice school of 1 male and 4 or 5 female lyretails and bartletts would look very nice.

I would add more wrasse in the list
Here is my list
Cheap and colorful

Clown fairy wrasse
Tri color fairy wrasse
Melanurus ( eats flatworms)
Red margin
Tamarin wrasse
Leopard wrasse
Red fin fairy
Mystery wrasse

Moderately price
Labouti fairy
Scott's fairy
Lineatus fairy trio
More female flame

If you want powder blue and Achilles
One have to be much bigger to prevent fighting

Moorish idol is very nice but it stress out too easily specially with your minimal aquascape with Achilles and powder blue ick will most likely spread quick and deadly even with 2 months of QT.

I suggest to add the regal first along with the naso
Add the sohal, Achilles and powder blue together.

Multiple Anthias are very colorful but requires a lot of feeding and its too difficult to satisfy the high metabolic requirement long time in a large group.

This is only my personal experience
I might be wrong!

pair of clowns and Anthias

pair of clowns and Anthias

Any problems between the pair of clowns? I would think not due to the size of your tank....

Actually in my previous tank I never had any problems with the two pairs, but now they're fighting over the blue carpet anemone! I need to buy a rose anemone for one of the pairs so each pair can have their own home! :debi:

As far as Anthias are concerned I forget to put them on my wish list...can I put a school of Lyretail and a school of purple queen Anthias in the same tank?

Also a school of blue chromis would look nice!

I'm excited about the Tangs but I am not looking forward to dealing with ICH! I love Achilles, Powder Blues, and Blue tangs but I know that unfortunately they come with disease head aches! Any tips on how to minimize my possibility of an ich outbreak would be welcome!

I love wrasses...especially fairy wrasses!!! I will be keeping my eyes open for colorful fish.

Thanks :)

Ick to me will always show up every time they are stress out.
But I would still put all the sohal, powder blue and Achilles in a qt tank with dividers for 2 months with cupramine and Prazipro and it also social acclimate them during that time too!

I will ditch the moorish idol unless you find one the is very healthy , well establish on someone tank and you don't mind waiting few more months after Qt for it to acclimate itself in the main tank before you add all the tangs in your list.

In my experience, moorish idol was the easiest fish I ever had. I had two of them at the same time. After a year I had to sell them, they start to fight, and they eats like a pig - corals too :)
