You should look at a room dedicated HRV unit, it'll solve all your stress on humidity.

Thanks Guys, I'm excited to be on the right track again and it was very depressing losing so many Acros at the end of last summer and I'm working to slowly build back to where I want to be and to focus on the right equipment more than collecting fish and corals!
It's sort of a paradigm shift where I have to spend on the stuff I don't see first and foremost...that wasn't the case last year and so I'm trying to change that!

I believe it works just fine at keeping my humidity low but make sure you place it outside because it does hum a little!:thumbsup:

Great observation Mike, I bought a huge calcium and Kalk reactors from GEO Reef and since I don't have that many large colonies at the moment my KH from my calcium reactor is usually on the high side so I didn't set it up to start running. I might have been wrong in my accessment, I was speaking with Dave from sfvr club and he has been giving me valuable advice lately and helping me through some of my growing pains! Dave told me that I should not gauge the usage of my Kalk reactor based on my KH in the tank but instead on the PH.
Let me know your thoughts and I'm starting to plan out my set up of the 818 Kalk reactor soon.

I have already started the process of turning my fish quarantine tank into a reef quarantine...And I will be posting some pictures of the process.
It is a 112 gallon tank with a 100 gallon sump with approximately 180 gallons of volume!
First is the canopy which I started to modify to handle MH lighting!

Long Overdue Update on my Reef....
It's been running for 2 years now! I've already had to deal with a AEFW fiasco a year and a half ago...which lead me to take more precautions since I pretty much lost all my Acros.
Then about three and a half months ago I've come across another heart breaking lesson which is that Kalkwasser can be dangerous! I was running a huge Kalk reactor from GEO reef and I was just having my tank top off with kalk whenever it need top off.
Bad Idea...one night the PH sky rocketed to 9.65 and I lost 80% of my coral and about 25-30% of my fish that night!
If I start using a kalk reactor again I'll be sure to only use it for small amounts of time not all the time with top off.

But the good news is that I'm back on my feet with the help of my local Reef club here in the San Fernando Valley part of Los Angeles.
In coming back after the PH spike I wanted to reassess my tank and see what were some weak points I could look to avoid and also how to use less power since my tank seemed to be an energy Hog!
So I went into Tunze pumps and bought four of their large pumps to place at each corner of the tank instead of using two closed loop pool sized pumps.
I also finally took the plunge of getting Radion Pros over the tank. After seeing everyones success in the LED world I felt like I need more energy savings and less bulb replacement over this large system.
It was just about looking into which LED units would bring about the growth I needed so after a lot of deliberation and study I chose Eco-tech for myself. I know that it can be debatable which company makes better LEDs but the choice has been made and I'm excited thus far! They've been a great company to work with thus far and I'm interested to see what the growth differences are between them and metal halides/T-5s.

I've had the new pumps on the tank now for six months and I'm happy with the results...the flow from the Tunze 6255 seems super strong and the undertow is almost as powerful lol.
I've been using the Radions for almost a month now and the corals seem happy and I've been ramping the lights from 35% intensity initially to now 55% (I think i'll stop at 60%).
I'm gonna post some pics of my coral now as a timeline (i've had these pieces for about two months under MH/T-5 and now one month under LEDs) and hopefully when I latter post pics we can compare and see if the growth was decent and colors maintained.
