Finding a new location is one thing - hard work, but manageable. What happened with the dance studio in the past is another. It can't be changed or undone now, and obviously, there are still a lot of hard feelings. I still would really like to see a reconciliation between Les and the old members who were effected by the situation and the board and club members today. Les, you did state your opinion about the "flea market" type vending. But you also stated that you wanted to discuss the issue. And, in my opinion, you chose the high ground when you took the dance studio as a current option off the table. You certainly made it easier on everyone involved in finding a new location by removing this as a source of conflict in the club. I think you deserve a lot of credit and respect for that - not everyone would have handled the situation as you have.
Anyone who has attended NERAC or any recent meetings has to be able to see how hard the board members try to make this a great club. I'd like to give the board the benefit of the doubt and believe that they are trying their best. No one is perfect and some situations are just difficult. It's easy to be an armchair coach, but it's tough to be the one responsible for the decisions. Even if the original move was not handled properly in terms of giving Les the respect he deserves, I doubt that anyone was being purposely hurtful. Let's not make the same mistake today.
I'm sure that a lot of effort has gone into finding a new location. Thanks for that.
