Yes, I love how supportive people are of the men's team now that they don't COMPLETELY suck...but the women are always on/near the top EVERY single year. People's feelings toward women are a bit obvious even in today's society.

Melly if you watched the game last night you'd understand... I thought it was a bit anticlimactic compared to the LSU game... Ashley was making fun of how the ladies play compared to the men... Its about like watching bad JV teams play each other... But its all relative... I support all UT athletics... :)

Actually, I would rather watch the women's game. Usually they play the team sport as a team. The men, at least in college and professional, play like a collection of prima donnas. Of course, that is my humble opinion. :D

I watched the game yesterday. It was great. Go vols!

The game really was not that good. Lady Vols played the entire game full out instead of just standing around mid way through the second half to allow Stanford to come back. It is pretty ironic that no one picks the Lady Vols to win. It just shows that many don't give them the respect they deserve. UConn anyone?
I have been to more Lady Vol games including the Final Four than the men's games and I use to count the number of times the women would fall down for no reason and miss easy lay ups (LSU anyone?) so I understand what Ashley is saying. Overall though their games are more exciting than the men's because they play as a team and defense instead of playing street pick up ball like the men. The last time they played it that way Lawson was driving down the court and throwing it up while the other 4 were standing around.

Also Pearl did something smart when he came to UT. He figured out that in order for him to make points with the university and the fans he had to get Pat on board. He is probably one of the few men's coaches that supports the women's team.

Mel I understand your point and see it even at the high school level. At most high schools the woman/girls' teams are tolerated unless you are talking Oak Ridge basketball then it is pretty even. Heck when Misty was head volleyball coach she was not given a gym key for summer practices but the boys' assistant bb coaches were.

Oh and go Lady Vols.
