LAK's 15g Cube

There's a slight wrinkle in our plans now. With what Laura wants to do, I don't think the BioCube is going to fit the bill. So I may give her my 18" x 18" x 14" acrylic cube that I was planning to eventually set up instead.

The nice thing is that I already have a light for it as well... so it could potentially be up and running as soon as I build a stand.

Gotta like it!!! Laura's first tank upgrade. I'm sure what ever you two decide it will be awsome. So whens the trip to the Lumber yard?

So I'm excited about getting TJ's cube, but I'm nervous about not having some kind of top on it. I (my family) have 4 cats...yes I said 4. They are all very nebby. Two of them make me really nervous though. One of them will only drink water out of the toilet and out of glasses ( not a bowl like normal cats ). This same cat also attempted to go fishing for our pufferfish back in college when TJ had his FOWLR. The other one is just 25 pounds of annoying..not fat...just huge and he's very concerned with everything and anything going on. When I try and print stuf on my printer..he runs and jumps up on the desk and sticks his paws inside the printer and causes a paper jam every time. I don't know how I'm going to keep them from bothering the tank.

TJ said they might not be concerned because I'm not adding anything like clownfish or wrasses that are constantly moving.

Who knows?!?!? lol I just dont want this tank to turn into an expensive bathtub!

Today after work, maybe!

Potentially, it could be up and running by Friday.

Yeah. The only thing we need is the stand. So, basically.. as soon as TJ builds it...we can get everything going.

"I don't know how I'm going to keep them from bothering the tank."
Cheap heater, and the eventual stray voltage should do the trick.

or buy a cheap motion sensor and wire it to a recording of a loud barking dog.. TJ could put something like this together for you no problem..Guarentinee those cats won't come close to that tank

What will happen to the biocube you just bought? it could be her QT tank
It's going to replace the cube tank which is currently being used as a holding/QT tank for her livestock, while the Bartletts are in my 20g long. I read that Bartletts can give more docile fish a hard time... and cardinalfish were one of the fish listed that they will go after, so I wanted to keep them separated.

Then once everything is transferred over to the cube, I'll probably clean up the biocube and sell it... or set it up... I dunno.

Friday? NICE!
She's optimistic.

As for the cats, if I build the stand flush with the tank, and we set it up away from furniture then the cats shouldn't be able to get up to the rim level.

I did that with my 90g tank. Even though it had a canopy, my cat could only get on eye level with it by sitting on the couch arm about 2-3 feet away. Most of the time he just sat in front of it and stared up at my tangs though.

This is about as close as he ever got (although he did face plant into the glass a few times trying to jump and catch them)

I just recieved an email notification from LA that they now have the tail spot blenny in stock!!....oooooo I wish my tank was set up already! I dont know how fair it is to TJ for me to buy fish without him knowing and just send them to his house for him to tank sit until mine is set up and cycled lol

I'm sure they will become available again..sigh.

haha, awesome! Did you get a green or yellow one? I love them both. :)

Well, I'm still waiting to get the tank up. Like I said, TJ has to build the stand so its all kind of depending on him. If I don't feel like waiting...I could always go and buy something... lol

..If I decide to try and buy something..any suggestions? The cube is pretty small 18" x 18" x 14".
