Update:

Bad news- One of my clown gobies has ick...blah I dont know why...everyone else is fine and he's still eating so we will see. TJ is coming over today to investigate.

Good news-We are going to Ohio tomorrow ( I believe ) to get my sump!
Wow You must have awsome eyesight to see a tiny white spec on a clown goby. But seriously I hope it turns out for the better and fingers crossed that you get your sump tomorrow.

Hey Laura, sorry to hear about the goby, I hope he pulls through :)
Make sure you snap us some pics of the sump if you pick it up :D! And snap a new FTS for us too :p

Thanks for your concern about the clown goby guys...I hope he pulls through. I'll keep you updated.

TJ and I are leaving for Ohio here in about 30 mins. I'll take some pics of the sump if I can. It's probs going to TJ's house though since we are picking it up in his car.

I'm going on vacation in 7 days, so I'm hoping the sump will be up and running by then.

So where are you headed? A six state driving tour of every public Aquarium you can find that has a reef display....lol
Seriously, I hope you enjoy your vacation and have a ton of fun Laura.
It would be nice to have the sump running before you go to add extra water volume which helps stability.

Thanks Frosty...I'm headed to Ocean City, New Jersey with my family (cousins, grandparents, ect...totalling about 30 people lol) so it should be fun. We are also going to go to Atlantic City for 2 nights... Hopefully I'll win me some cash! haha

The sump looks awesome. I'm really excited about it. TJ should have it done b4 I leave.

Thanks Mitchell. The trip was nice. It was a really beautiful day to travel. TJ has the sump at his house, but like he said...there won't be any pics til tomorrow since he's going out to watch the Stanley Cup (since Pittsburgh is in it)...blah lol

The clown goby died last night...I saw my CUC chomping down on him this morning. I'm not suprised, he looked terrible. The other fish and all of the corals are doing well though. My levels are also stable, so I don't know what happened. I just need to get this tank plumbed ASAP. And where are the sump pics TJ? come on people are waiting lol

Sorry to hear about your clown...if we had the setup to raise the eggs that our clowns laid, I would offer to send you one or more when they reached a suitable age:

UPDATE: Just re-read the fish obituary...Clown GOBY, not Clown...one of our most favourite fish was a Clown Goby we had in your 10g. We had him for a long time and then one day he decided to jump.

Yeah, it sucks...I don't think I'll be getting anymore...I have had bad luck with them so far.

:) When we discovered the eggs I immediately went online to see what was involved in raising them and quickly decided that it wasn't something we could do in our apartment. Maybe when we have a house and dedicated fish room we could setup everything needed to raise them but it does seem like quite a bit of work.

Ya, I re-read your post and updated my reply. :)

Our clown goby would perch all over our 10g tank. "This is mine. And this is mine. Oh, and this is mine." :D

On a good note, I just ordered a new bulb. I got the 250w DE Pheonix 14k, since that is what TJ told me to get lol. It should be here Wed. at the latest.

Sump Pics... another great job by Keith (DEERE G).

I just realized I labeled one of the sections "Heater." The heater will actually sit vertical in one of the corners of the Skimmer section, because the water level will remain constant in that area... so there is no concern over the possibility of exposing the heating element to the air. Also, I use BeanAnimal's recommendation, and do not submerge the tops of my heaters (even the submersible ones).
