If you're certain they are from Japan, then there's a good chance they are actually lanceolatus. I'm guessing you've been in touch with Mr. Wada.
Anyways, there's limited knowledge on the particulars of this species, as they've only been kept by a handful. That said, they have been reported to be rather aggressive for a fairy wrasse. I would not keep them amongst other fairys.
As they're Japanese, they are sub-tropical. Keeping your tank around 75-76 might be advisable. You may well be able to adapt them to warmer temps, but do such with care and observation.
