I have a large male naso tang (approx 8inches) who suddenly broke out in large black blotches all over his stomach and face. It looks like someone splashed paint all over him? They are not parasites. It appears to be a discoloration of sorts?
What could have caused this? Could he have been stung by a coral?
The tank is a 265 gallon mixed reef. LPS,SPS and softies. I also have 3 other large tangs (yellow,Purple, and Sailfin) that are of similar size.
His appetite is still great. he will eat anything I put into the tank. I feed a mix of new life spectrum thera-A, Formula 2, brine shrimp and calurpa.
Any thoughts?
