Large blue S. gigantea

I was just at one of my local stores in Dublin to buy some live rock for my new tank and saw this large blue gig there.

It's well over a foot in diameter and seemed to be in good health.
I was really tempted but since my new tank isn't up yet there was no way to take it home. And all my QTs are filled with fish or curing live rock :headwalls:
Also right now the $300 they ask for it would probably get me a sleeping place in the doghouse.

Thats a nice color blue, from the pic I would have thought it was a haddoni but I wasn't there.

Makes me miss my blue carpet

Maybe in summer, but right now it's still quite chilly ouside at night, even here in the Bay Area. Plus I really don't want to have to fight with the raccoons for a sleeping place

That one would have filled my 18" cube all by itself - edge to edge - and I'm sure Dumb & Dumber (my 2 stupid percula) would have had no way to miss or ignore it like they do with the crispa and the BTA.

BTW. They had a green one on Thursday and it was gone today. They were also the ones where I got my crispa from.
Around here they are the best place to find anemones other than BTA. Unfortunately Dublin is 25 minutes away from me (outside rush hour) and not in a direction I normally drive. So I can't stop by every day like with my local store here in Fremont.

BTW, if you come from further away I would recommend to hit several stores around here that are basically all along a big highway loop:
A.C. in Dublin (at the intersection of 680 & 580)
Baja Reef in Union City (880 exit Whipple Rd) (next weekend they will get a lot new stuff they collected themselves in Mexico)
California Reef Co. in Fremont (880 exit Auto Mall Pkwy)
Neptune Aquatics in San Jose (880 exit Old Bayshore Hwy)

There is at least one more in Hayward, but I haven't been there yet.

Was there again today and they still have it and it still appears healthy.
Seems around here nobody wants a large blue haddoni.

They also got a smaller greenish one - likely also a haddoni (had the striping they sometimes have).

It's still there and looking good:

They have 2 more, a green-gray and a partially bleached green one.

It seems people around here don't like haddonis...

It's still tempting but waaay to big for me. I'm also afraid it will eat my mandarins and gobies.
Also it isn't the right anemone for my percula - I feel they are looking for a gigantea.

When I was there last Saturday it as still sitting there, still looking healthy. The smaller ones were gone - seems people don't like big haddonis.
