LARGE LPS Colonies

Yea that's a good size hammer! Ive had mine for bout 7 months but all I see new is lil ting heads by popping up around the bases. Kegogut is that how yours started producing new heads?

Mine just started splitting the heads it had into new heads and multiplied. I never really seen any small heads per say.

Ive gotten lucky with him. Ive got a small grape torch that Ive had for just as long as the hammer and hasnt gotten any bigger at all.

Started this one as dime size frag. Would be a but bigger were it not for the occasional trimming. It's about 8"

These coral are rediculous. What lighting are you guys/gals using? Water change methods? Dosing? I definitely don't have any colonies that big and my tank is well over a year old plus the time the corals had in my smaller system.

I use some radion knock-offs called Pharos LEDs. 3 of the over a 5ft 120 @ about 60 white/50 blue. WC is 20 gallons every 2 weeks. No dosing.

Here some of mine. Understand that I am primarily an SPS large Angel guy. However, over the years as my angels and SPS have grown I have removed some of my old favorite LPS and placed them in my two sumps. They were very crowded, and I never target fed anyone of them but I did feed the anemones. Recently I set up another large sump. Its in my garage and is about 8 feet long by 46 inches wide and only 15 inches deep. One end of the new sump has a new sandbed approximately 4 to 6 inches deep. It is lit by a single 400 watt 20 K halide that is about 46 inches or so above the sump. The sump is plumbed in series with my other sumps and receives about 60 percent of the runoff from my 425 gallon SPS Angel fish tank. I feed the sps tank very heavy. Since the new sump has been set up, approx 4 weeks or so I have also been target feeding the LPS fresh frozen squid that I shave off of the same block I use to feed my Angels. . The love the extra food and eat aggressively.

Here is a very old image of the old sump. It is a 75 gallon tank and has been going about 5 years. As you can see they are packed in there.
