Mine!
as I've been kind of lazy lately
Wow.........good luck Matt. If you have success I'm going to have to take a drive down your way to see it.
You definitely want to think outside the box when it comes to the presentation of the food. I think they struggle with the textures too.
If you need anyone to bounce ideas off of, let me know.
IME with this fish, and also with a pair of C. baronessa (triangulum??) many, many years ago, the fish will go after tiny pieces of food first. And the texture needs to be smooth and soft. I personally doubt it will eat any PE... even minced.... ever. But I have high hopes for the smaller particles in the LRS food. I had good success with Ocean Nutrition VHP frozen formula, of all things, with the baronessa (and also with regal angels). My larvatus also liked tiny minced clam... if you've ever worked with thawed clam out of the shell you know how aromatic and "slimy" soft it is... even compared to raw shrimp or scallop. The same is true with thawed VHP Formula... super soft and slimy. Not unlike a coral polyp, I guess
Also, this:
needs to be a thing of the past with this fish![]()
Maybe get some ON Formula one? Much different than formula2 - very slimy & smooth as Peter has mentioned. I wish I can send it to you - I used 1 cube & it went ignored & made a mess. It seems like the type of thing they might try, though. Can't wait, Matt! mucho jealous...
Did you find feeding minced clam worked better than whole clams cracked open?
I've got access to some ON food, but I think it's formula 2. Truthfully, I'm not a big fan of ON anymore, but I see the logic behind using it here.
Shipped today, arrives tomorrow. Don't worry, they'll be pictures and maybe a video. Did get the electric blue hermits if you are interested in those...
