lastlight's 225 reef build

I do like the rock work very much. One suggestion, maybe replace the dead-tabling corals with some live ones? Granted, buying a coral that size would bankrupt Mr. Gates, but frags will grow...

Just an idea to bounce around. :)

Very nice, clean setup. You really gonna like the BK Supermarin, I very pleased with it myself. To start the cycle you can also add some mysis and bacterial additives ;) The new rockscape looks better then the previous, I really like it this way.

Leonardo

Thanks Leonardo. This skimmer is already pulling out some great stuff! It fills the cup about 3 inches per day and I can *just* see through the liquid so it's fairly dark. I'd purchase this skimmer again If I had to do it all over!

In time you won't even see those ledges...at least that's the plan! They're key to my plan to have some great shaded/ledge areas down below when the tank is mature and bursting at the seams some day.

Another thing that's great about them is when there is a ton of coral on top of them and they are hidden from view...there will be a pod CITY within the dead tables. I'm amazed at how much surface area they have. And it's prtected from fishes!

That is very true... pod-city is a happy place. :)

Wow... lots of progress since I last checked your thread out. I LOVE the new aquascape too, it's gonna fill in real nice once you begin to add coral and fish!

Please keep the updates coming!!!:bounce3::bounce2::bounce3:

Hey Bud! As you know, your rock is the same stuff I used and you're absolutely right about the pods thriving in there. The only fish who can get at them is my CBB. With his long snout he can pick off a few on the edges.
The ledges make great shaded areas for LPS, shrooms, etc. which you'll need as your tank is pretty bright.
As I said before, I much prefer your new rockwork. Looks Great!

I was just making that up man. I'm happy to hear it's TRUE lol. The other night I spotted the FIRST isopod crawling around on a rock in the display. The walls of the tank have more copepods on'em everyday!

If you need some sand or rubble to help seed extra pods and such just swing by and get some. Want some pod laced cheato for you fuge?

Thanks guys.

Greg that's really kind of you. I'd never turn down a little diversity and I'd love to show my wife what a slice of a reef looks like. When she's feeling better I'll get in touch with you thank-you =)

I measured zero nitrites last night. Hoping to toss a few chromis in to test the waters in the next few days. Thank-you =)

I like the change in your aquascape alot better than what you had before. Great build and great job overall. Very impressed!
