lateral line disease and ozone

Justed started to use ozone using a controller. Orp went from 260 to 360 then stopped going up. Contoller was set to go off at 400 so unit always ran. After about three weeks fish developed symptoms that looked like lateral line disease but also had deterioration of fins. Stopped the ozone about a week ago but fish don't seem to have improved. Any thoughts?

I suppose it is possible for ozone in the aquarium to burn the fins, but I would expect it to damage the gills first. Have you ever used copper in your tank? Do all the fish seem to have HLLE? What species have it? Did it progress quickly or over time? How is there respiration?

Never used copper. Angels, Tangs and Foxface have it. Anthias, clowns and chromis are fine. Progressed quickly. Respiration is fine.

Angels and tangs are most frequently affected. Usually progresses slowly unless there is an irritant in the water. I have noticed a correlation between using copper and angels and tangs developing HLLE quickly. Do you use RO water or tap water to mix your salt with? Hard to believe the HLLE is from the ozone when the gills don't seem to be effected.

I use R.O. I have a deep sand bed that has been setup for about five years. I wonder if the sand accumulated toxins over time that were released when I started using the ozone. Don't really have a better explaination. Fish are stable now. From what I've read, should be slow to heal.
