I have had the bubble tip for four months and fed him every day. I always wanted a clownfish to host. My breeding pair of false percs never did before I traded them in to the ARC breeding program. I should be happy she did not try to host in my todds torch.
I found him at ARC hidden in a back tank. I was looking for a latz or akindynos for a while.
Yes, Randy and Dave have built all 3 tanks I have had so I am pretty confident. I am 100% positive it is a latz, verified from Randy himself and I did research on it. She is captive bred latz.
They do prefer a decent size anemone to share. especially if they are a bonded pair. My pair has been in bat before, but currently reside in an 8in. crispa. Try getting another same species and put next to the one now so it gives each one to frolic in without waiting for it to grow.
Update- The latz is really pounding the anemone. I will keep an eye on it but I think the bubble is going to need to be moved into one of my frag tanks. I did find another CB Latz clownfish. I will be trading in the saddle and trying to pair the two latz.
3.24.11 Update- Traded in my RBTA for credit to upgrade to a Green Bubble Tip with Pink Tips. He is triple the size of the other one. As you can see the Latz has bonded with it already but it is quickly on the move!
My second CB Latz Clownfish arrived today and alive! This one is super small but has all of the correct stripes. I just checked my camera and they are both in the pink tip bubble together. The bubble moved from the top right to the bottom right to a good space with very little to sting. There are a few maxi minis around but that side never had a bunch going on.
3.27.11 Update- I finally have some pictures of them together while the lights are on. They are fitting in well and don't appear to be fighting. The anemone is fully open and is a beast. The only potential problem is the final location of the anemone to the maxis but they appear to be ok now. I don't know if a chemical war is starting.
Gary- Yes, Tank 4 has come a long way since it was set. I am waiting for it to fill out.
The tanks run are always between 77(night)- 78 (MH's on). I asked about that when I bought the large Latz. The ARC purchased LATZ had been in the warm tanks for months with no ill effects. They are both Captive Bred. The wild ones come from colder waters.
