Lawnmower Blenny

Hey RC!

My tank has been up for a couple weeks, is fully cycled (according to tester at LFS), and raring to go.

I have 4 damsels and 3 turbos currently.

Today I added a lawnmower blenny!! (I had a nice algae bloom) (I completely rearranged the tank before adding him)

I'm pretty excited about this.

Is there anything I can do to feed him? (leave lights on, overfeed, etc.?)

Anyone have any good lawnmower blenny stories to share?

Thanks!

LMB are cool..but i hope your not gunna add any more fish to the tank with 4 damsels.. dont make the mistake i did.. get rid of then now while thier little..mine killed ALOT of tangs..

My LMB is a very peaceful little guy. He likes to eat the Frozen Formula 2 food and sometimes I see him munching at some nori.

I never see him acting aggressive toward any other tankmates. In fact....our Kohl Tang chases the living daylights out of him sometimes.

I have a LMB. I have seen him actually eating flake food as well as picking at the rocks for algae. LMB's sure aren't very attractive fish. As long as you have a healthy build up of green algae on the glass if you leave it go without cleaning it for a few days, I would say he has plenty to eat. You may want to start investing in some live rock though.

Mine wouldnt eat anything but algea for a good six months, but now that im out of algea he eats whatever i feed the others.

I've had my LMB for about 2 years now, and he still will only eat algae off my glass and overflows. I've tried to get him to eat other things, but he knows what he likes.

I feed my LMB those algae discs that sink...he loves them. he puts them in his mouth and swims around the tank with them until they soften. I think my blenny is overweight though, so the natural algae is best I think!!

They are neat looking fish, they have alot of character, but mine was really agressive and i had to get rid of him.He was always attacking my other fish. All fish are diffrent so i might of just had a jerk :)

I have two and they don't eat anything but the algae off my LR, glass, and powerheads. They have a lot of character and let me touch them occasionally.
