Yep I make boo boo.thanks, Perry.. I try! It has encrusted well but I don't think it has grown very much... I'll be patient.. I love that piece as well..
Mindy, are you saying that dosing n or po4 at night? I have doubts that a skimmer really removes a lot of inorganic n and p.. I would think a skimmer is more effective and physical removing organics and by extension lowering inorganics..
.. Unless you've mixed up inorganics and organics .. In which case, I would tend to agree..
Excess inorganics leading to more intense colours and super low inorganics leading to more pale colours..
Thanks Bulent. There are plenty of boring corals that I never take photos of.. Some of those will go.. I will have to make some tough choices, though..Thanks for the latest update Matt. If I closer to you, I would buy most of your unwanted corals.
I am glad about the demise of cyano. The new Seachem product for removing phosphates sounds intriguing. I will read on its specification.
Cheers
Thanks, Mark! I wouldn't have my scape any other way.Great update, glad the cyano treatment went well. I used chemiclean in my smaller tank and it did work well but the nutrient spike 4 days later was pretty large. Ironically the only acro not to brown out was a little frag of the nasuta, which has been brown in my 150 for months now. Silly acros.
I really like how your scape lends itself to having a lot of acros.
That's awesome that you turned the corner with Cyano- I'm about there myself. How many fish do you have in there now? The corals and the overall look of the scape is really coming along! You do have a bit of a case of "green Acro overload" though, it happens to us all.
You should focus on reds, pinks and light blues to balance the color more as you start the replacement process. I have to restrict myself to specific colors before I go to the store now otherwise I'd get more green acros myself:lolspin:
Thanks, Jeff.. Like I said.. I hope it stays away this time. Thanks for the update!
looking good! I haven't had to deal with cyano yet, I am happy for you to have cleaned it out.
Hey Geeray.. My rejects aren't really all that great.. And you may change you mind once you see the end of this post..I may be interested in some of your rejects and I only live an hour away...
Thanks, Dan, congrats on the new corals.. Just like any desperate reefer, you found a spot! Nice job!Matt nice to hear all is going well and Cyano has gone !!!
Looks like we are in the mood of some changes. This weekend I closed the deal with local reefers for a nice piece of Ora Joe the coral, a pink Acro and a cream Milli. I will pick them up at the end of the week.
To place them in my "crowded" tank I moved a pipe organ colony that was in a corner of the landcape. It was relocated to the fuge.
Next weekend will post on my thread.
Your tank, as always, looks great, and as many have said, I wish i could pick up your discarded corals..... whatever you have there are all great !!!!
Cheers !!!
Daniel
Thanks Mindy... I removed a few corals and it really is a relief when there is suddenly some space between them..Yep I make boo boo.
As much as I like your fts now, I can't wait to see how it looks once you thin it out. I'm a huge fan of less is more. You should try picking favorites in a tiny tank like mine!!!
Thanks, Perry!
I'm actually not too freaked out about it..
I don't think it'll get to bad with regular maintenance..
Thanks, Jeff.. Like I said.. I hope it stays away this time.

Thanks Mindy... I removed a few corals and it really is a relief when there is suddenly some space between them..
I will have to make some very tough decisions, though.. I do want to try to keep my favorites and remove some duplicates.. Then rearrange..
It's so hard.. You start thinking about which corals you want to remove but before you're done, you start thinking about the corals you want to put in the empty places and then you're thinking about wether you really want to remove THAT coral.... And then you're totally overwhelmed and you don't want to do anything!.. Well that's what happens to me..
I have to concentrate on removing first.. Baby steps!
I would have heart palpitations if I had a smaller tank to deal with...
So I mentioned earlier that I had good news and bad news.. Well here's the bad news.....
