least aggressive clown species

Of Readily available on market I would say akallopisos and sandaracinos. Basically skunk complex is a bit more laid back than others...

In a 120 you can get away with pretty much any clown pair. Smaller tanks like 10-15 gallons can make the most docile clowns aggressive especially if they start breeding.

My least aggro clowns were pink skunks, however there was one very experienced nem keeper on here(toddrtrex) who said his pair were as mean as any he's had, so it's never a gauranteed outcome.
I will say I think most tank raised clowns are more on the passive side, especially if bought young and kept from being exposed to wild type conditions where they may have to learn to become defensive, though I'm sure that territorial instinct can be brought out if need be.

My sandaracinos were angels until they started laying eggs and then they were little psychos. While my Spotcinctus were docile as can be even when guarding their eggs. You can take a best guess based on species, but every clown is an individual, so nothing is guaranteed.

i am considering 2 pairs of the last aggressive species. is that reasonable?
In a 120, it is unlikely to have happy ending. Even least aggressive (toward other species) clowns will kill when two females are introduced in a small tank. Sometime they will tolerate smaller juveniles but absolutely no three mature clowns (either male or female). dominant male will chase other males, the female just look on. However, female will attach another female clowns.

Unless it's a harem from the same clutch typically once they mature they pair off and become very aggressive and territorial.
I have a 120g myself, I would not even consider more than one pair of clowns

Yes i agree with the others that are saying you can only keep one pair in a display tank

I see allot of suggestions for skunks yes they are less aggressive and they are spooked easily but as said in a previous post once they start laying eggs or breeding they will become aggressive even to death

The only situation where i heard of more than one female in a tank is with (real) clarks clowns 2 females 1 male the male will tend to both females

Of all the anemonefish species I had I actually found clarkii to be the least aggressive towards other fish, probably because everyone else would stay well clear of them. Clarkii are actually the only ones that tolerate another species (A. periderion) in their anemone in the wild. Though I don't think that this could be replicated in a home size tank.
My ocellaris and percula pairs were always bickering with the other fish in the tank, though due to their relatively small size they usually didn't do much damage.
The maroons I had were rather shy and the most aggression I observed was towards other maroons.
The worst of all were melanopus, sebae and polymnus.

+1
Clarkii clowns have a bad reputation but they are quite torenant of other clowns in either the same anemone or one nearby with other clowns, pink skunks in particular. I found it to be especially the case when H. Crispa anemone is involved as a host.

This sounds promising ...

I'm setting up a 220 gallon tank, and will be introducing my pair of young percocellaris. (Yeah, I'm not so certain that the "stubby" one isn't a hybrid... but they're cute clowns, and I have a six-year-old granddaughter.) I do like the dramatic coloring of the black clarkii - would it be possible to add a _single_ clarkii to the tank without WWIII erupting?

Maroon is probably most aggressive along with the tomato clownfish which is not as aggressive but is as well aggressive based on my experience with them. In my opinion I have had the most non-aggressive clownfish be a false percula clownfish in my tank.
