Ok so I'm sorta new to owning leather corals and Iv had mine for several months now. He was doing great and then all of a sudden the past few days he started doing this weird thing. He came out half way and then today he is completely closed up and has like a weird shinny whiteness to him?? Anyone know what's going on? I don't want him to die he is one of my favorites!

They go through periods of shedding. Sometimes, they'll close up like that for a week or more. You can let nature take it's course or you can "help it along" by blasting it with a powerhead. I've even rubbed the film off with my fingers but I don't really recommend it. More than likely, it's fine.

Yeah,shedding. My fiji was weird for over a year while everything else opened up and grew like crazy. Now out of nowhere, it's the prettiest coral in the tank. They are weird at times. My 18" Toadstool leather shed a few weeks ago and still hasn't come around yet. Devols fingers shed about once a month and spring back so beautiful. You will always be worried when they shrink up ir do differently......Just let them do them.
