LED moonlighting from autolumination

I'm curious... does anyone have these lights hooked up to an aquacontroller or something similar to allow for actual lunar cycles? I would love to know if there is appreciable difference in output according to the lunar calendar. If anyone has tried this it would also be helpful to know which DC adapter you are using (voltage and mA). Thanks!

is anyone out there using these that also is using the Tek T5 Fixture? I bought 2 of the 3Led Units and the 300mA 1.5-12v power adaptor from RadioShack, but I don't have a canopy to mount them onto and I'm not sure where I'd be able to put them to use with the Tek T5 overhead.

I have the same tek T5's and put the moonlights bewteen the t5's and the MH lamps. Tight squeeze... but it works!

I have the TEK T-5's 6 bulb fixture. My tank is in-wall so I mounted my LED's to the framing above the tank. I know this is of no help to you, sorry bout that.

Has anyone tried the moonlights from fishbowl innovations?

I was looking though the RC sponsors and found them. Seems like a good way to use moonlights.

i was look ing for these and couldnt find the 5$ ones. then realized that this thread started in 04. so are the correct ones now 10$?

Has anyone mounted them on the underside of the center plastic brace?

I have an open top setup and installing them inside my reflectors is not an option.

Thanks

NoSchwag, granted it would be small, but with a few of them you'd have shadowing when your daylights are on. If that's not important to you, then the claim in the website is that they are waterproof.

I don't really like the blue look too much. I wish it was a more crisp blue like a ps2 light.

Question..

Do you think these will melt if stuck to the top inside of my luminarc mini reflectors with 250w mh's?

Yes the autoillumination ones are sensitive to heat, we had two one on each side of a 250w MH about 4" or so from the bulb. The one on the bulb end got a little hot and melted a little, but the one on the base of the bulb is still fine. Be sure to keep space from the heat.

Great thread!
Found it from a search on RC.
I don't have time to read all of it,but I do have a question.
I just ordered 3 of them and was planning on mounting them inside a luminarc reflector above the light. Will heat affect these little led fixtures? It's too perfect not to try it.
Thanks.
