LED Recommendation

Hello,

Haven't been light shopping in a couple years, so a bit overwhelmed with the options right now. I currently have an IM Nuvo 30 that is lit by two Kessil A150Ws. One of them, at some point, drastically reduced output and I didn't notice until my clam stopped extending and then ultimately died. The tank still appears well illuminated because of the crossover with the two lights, but one of the lights has significantly reduced output. Anyway...

I'm looking for a replacement single fixture that I can purchase with an arm that attaches to a rimless tank (no hanging fixtures). I'd like to get a single fixture for now that will take care of this tank, but also work well with another light in the not so distant future (planning to upgrade to a 48" long tank, probably 21-24" width and 24" depth, and I'd really like to be under $350 or so.

Any suggestions?

I am a bit overwhelmed with lighting choices too, and a line item comparison is outside my experience. But, I can share what I am currently using, and that I am mostly happy with it. It's an Aqua Illumination Prime that puts out about 40 watts of LED light. It is lighting a 34 gallon cube display tank at about 12" above the water which is about 24" deep. I've already bleached a specimen with it, so I know there's enough light. All of the corals are growing much more than I've experienced in my tanks from years past after dialing back a bit from full power.

What I like about it is:
- I can adjust the output level for each color channel, and set multiple points for that level based on the time of day.
- I can ramp up to emulate a sunrise, and conversely, back down for sunset
- I can program and control it from my phone over the Internet
- It's only about $225

What I don't like about it:
- I can't save a file or "light curve" that I've created
- I can't buy and load in a light curve from, let's say, Bali or Hawaii
- The gimble mount could use some re-design, but it was easily made tank worthy with some minor tweaking from me.

All in all, I am quite happy with the light, but I am shopping for my next light and REALLY want the file save/load capability.

Happy hunting! :)

you can save/load light curves via the "upload/download" button on the myai site, unless you are talking about something different...?
