Any time you make a change in lighting, there's a chance that you will be providing the exact spectrum of light that will make a type of algae take off. That algae still needs nutrients, though. The nutrients may well have been there all along, and the new lights just made for the "perfect storm".
The good news is that you probably don't have to get rid of the new lights to effectively beat it, identifying the nutrient and cleaning it up should be enough to get rid of it.
Get those test kits out and get an accurate result for Phosphates
