LED's DIY...

OK...here's the deal. I have an electrically able hubby who is willing to build me an LED lighting system. I just don't understand the LED's enough to tell him what to get to build it.

My tank is a 40g breeder, SPS dominated with a clam and a RBTA. Is there a DIY kit out there that I can get for him to build for me?!

LOTS of threads on here you should read first. Check out anything by Kcress for sure, lots of good info on his posts.

You can also check out www.rapidled.com for kits, but you still need some understanding, so check out the threads for sure.

Read first. But most find that the 48 LED kit from rapid is perfect for 40 breeders. Things to consider are you options like LED ratios of blue to white, and do you want dimable or non dimable drivers. Good luck with your build!

Thanks guys! I have read all the LED threads, but electronics are definitely not something I can begin to understand. It's all foreign to me.

I will keep trudging through the info and hopefully understand it someday!

This site has several kits for sale http://reefledlights.com/shop/category/led-kits/. The LEDs and drivers match those I used in my build and its been working great. For a 48 LED setup, I spent around $500.

Also, as Multicincta pointed out above Kcress really knows LEDs. I read almost all of his posts and they were very helpful.
