Lennardi Wrasse Bacterial Infection

Hi All,

I recently got a Lennardi Wrasse and all has been well until this morning. I woke up and she had a major lesion on one side of her body. I can't believe how big the lesion is considering she has been asleep in the sand all night and I literally saw her come out of the sand this morning. She was fine last night as well. I was able to get her into a hospital tank quickly and I did start a treatment of NeoPlex which is broad spectrum antibiotic. She always has and still is eating Mysis and Brine shrimp. Even right after transfer to the hospital tank. I have started soaking her food in some multi vitamin from Brightwell Aquatics. My question is if I should start treating her with anything other antibiotic and if you think my diagnosis is accurate. Pics in next comment.

Kanaplex works well and is absorb through skin. I would use kanaplex and nitrofuracin. Not sure if the antibiotic you use will cause issues.

Did your quarantine her prior? With high rise of uronema I'm scared not to treat before putting in my tank.

I have a ml male in quarantine and slowly ramping up the copper.

I also want to mention that I have KanaPlex, SulfaPlex, MetroPlex, Furan 2, Paraguard, Meth Blue, Malachite Green at my disposal. And I can get practically any medicine I want very quickly if need be.

I did a much shorter then normal qt due to Lennardi history of not doing well in captivity. I did treat with a round of Prazi and Meth Blue in qt and observed for hours since it wasn't the normal qt regiment. In the short time I did have her in, I didn't see any signs of illness. Not saying there wasn't and I know I took a chance by introducing her early. Luckily I was able to get her out easily. It's actually weird, it's almost like she trusts me because I was able to trap her with egg crate and get her into the net with no effort at all.

I really want the most accurate opinion on her diagnosis before i start treating her for tons of things. The lesion does look more red In color than it did this morning.

I've also wondered if she some how swam into a rock really fast. It doesn't appear to bother her either.

Here's a video to show movement and how she is eating. She looks pretty calm in the hospital tank right now. I'm feeding small amounts very frequently. She hangs out in the back of the tank and everytime I come in she comes to front and swims around in the front.

I would still user kanaplex just to prevent the wound from getting any infection.

I'll dose some KanaPlex. I wonder if there is any issue with dosing that at the same time as the NeoPlex.

I just wish I knew exactly what happened.
