Leonardo's Lagoon

Leonardo,
This is the 1st time I'm posting on your thread but I browse through it everytime I'm on RC. Your tanks have been inspiration to my current tank. I wish you the best of luck and hope to see you back in the hobby.

Leonardo-

Would you mind posting your creatine dosage and method again? It got deleted with the data migration.

Thanks

Erik

I now dose 0.25 gram of creatine per day. The TM Reef-Actif also seems to feed the sponges btw.

Here you go Erik! ;) 0.25 gram of Creatine Monohydrate is added to my 160 gallon tank. The creatine is dissolved in some RO water, and then directly added to the sump that contain the sponges.

Small update:

I decided to start a new project probably within a few months. The Lagoon will be broken down in the meantime and I will save some of the corals in a temporary tank.
I will also start to collect and grow out some new colonies that I will collect in the following months, also in this temporary tank.
The cryptic spongefilter will be connected to the tank to keep the sponges healthy for the next project.

I can't tell much about the new project because my plans are still open and slowly beginning to take shape :)

Leonardo

Thanks Peter!

Simultaneously with collecting the new colonies, I will treat all the corals several times with Levamisole (and maybe additional TMPCC). I want to make sure that all the corals that enters the new tank are pest (AEFW) free.
No more colonies will be placed in the tank after the initial setup. If I would like to add something, I will setup a quarantine tank first.

The corals that are purchased are separated on different platforms, and treated with a Levamisole 50 PPM "dip" for 5 hours every two weeks.
Infected corals will be removed immediately. Travis described this method in this thread.

I thought this is the right time to do this, because all the corals are in a temporary tank anyway :)

Hej, looks like a great idea, thanks for the link. Right now I only treat new corals with Kent tech D but since I just started a new setup it's a good idea to prepare better for unwanted guests and try Levamisole. Do you buy it under that name or is it just the name of an active ingredient?

Originally it is a Pig de-wormer, I get it at my veterinarian.
The active ingredient (Levamisole) is also found in Salifert Flatworm-exit. But because this is a commercial product, it is less concentrated and more expensive.

Great to hear these news Leonardo, looking forward to when you start a thread with the new project!

Can't wait to see what you come out with this time Leo....

Are you gonna start a new thread for the new build?

Cool !!!

I cannot wait to see you new project it's gonna be really hard to wait till then :P I feel like a child counting each day until christmas lol

Bjarne, Ed and Alex; of course I will start a new thread when I have a consistent plan of the new tank. But this time I really want to plan this thoroughly again (Like with the Formosa Forest)
This tank have to last longer then one year! ;)

First step is to collect corals and make sure that they are 100% pest free :) In January I have enough time to spend a few whole days a week setting up the new tank. Until then it's all planning! ;)

Leonardo

Some of the already collected corals for my new project, waiting and growing! And hopefully 100% pest-free. Hope you enjoy.

Some of the colors are not optimal because of the periodically Levamisole treatments.
