Leopard Wrasse

Okay i just got a kole tang on tuesday, call me crazy but I went to my LFS for water and came back with a Leopard wrasse. After seeing Beanmachines wrasse I want one and it so happens to be on sale at my LFS. I get home and in 5 min my six line starts to have some beef with my Leopard wrasse. Leopard dove into the sand and hasn't came out. Do you think over time the six line and leopard can co exist? They are both the same size but the leopard doesn't seem to defend itself. If not, Six LIne will need to get the steppin.


Any ideas to catching a super fast 2in wrasse?

Does anyone know if six line wrasse dive into sand when the light are all out? Wanted to see if i can see where it is diving into and catch it that way.

Years ago I had a 6line and I never seen it dive into my sandbed. The only way I caught the damn thing was ripping most of the rock out and draining half the tank.

6 lines sleep in the rocks. I'd remove it if you want to keep the leopard wrasse. I hope you don't have a big tank/lots of live rock cuz it's gonna be a b*tch trying to get the 6 line out.

I was under the impression that all wrasse go into the sand to sleep and when under stress. IMO your leopard will be fine, he's just shocked into a new environment.

Dude, that six line is like a ninja. It cruises from behind and attacks the leopard. It just ****es me off that the six line will not leave the leopard alone. I am going to spear that damn six line.

Six lines are known for being agressive little wrasses. If you can find were in the rock it sleeps it should not be to hard to catch. Just remove the rock with the wrasse inside.

My coris wrasse is chasing around my 3 leopard wrasses but it seems like the agression isn't so bad. I stay away from 4-6-8 line and mystery wrasses now. I've learned my lesson.

leopards ar punks and scare/are bullied very easily. six line sleep on the sand covered in mucus. my leopard is about 4-5" and and i have fish half the size scaring him.

6 line gets very aggressive, I had one that went Mike Tyson on my other fish. Hope you catch him...

If you catch the six line trade it in for a cryptic six line wrasse they are prettier and not aggressive at all actually really shy fish

It looks just like yours (not the potter one). I got it from OC tropical Fish store out in Lake Forest. It is a beauty but now i have to catch the six line. I just don't know how.

Ripped apart the whole tank and got that bad boy out. :thumbsup:

Start at 9:30pm and ended 1am. While I am at it, I aquascape to a totally new rock formation. haha! Never again am I going to add a six line wrasse.

How's the fish?

It is out and about but hasn't taken any food I prepared. It is picking on rocks. Maybe pods? I bought the cylops at Coral grazer and paid like 5 bucks for it. Hope that works.

i have one eating but the melanarus wont leave it alone... it chills in the back corner and comes out when its feeding time...

I took him out last night and placed him into the sump...

Was thinking i should remove the melanarus and exchange him for another one...
