Leopard Wrasse

After Searching the LFS in my area, I've finally came across a Leopard Wrasse in good condition, and eating frozen food. I acclimated it and as soon as I was finished it darted into the sand, is this typical behavior? Also, how long do they usually take to get used to the tank? (When will he come out? I'm very excited:D )

congrats on the leopard.unfortunetly mine was not so healthy when i got him.he could take up to two weeks to feel comfertable sometimes longer depending on what else you have in the tank. they sleep in the sand

In tank now
2 Ocellaris Clownfish
1 Bullet Goby
2 Fairy Wrasses
1 Flame Hawk
Then the Leopard, which I hope will come out.

Yes, it's normal reaction when acclimating to a new tank. Could take any where from a few hours to several days for it to come out regularly.

I have a Potters Leopard wrasse, i dropped him in, and he swam around with the others right away... I guess he was socialized at the LFS and was fine. He also eats anything I put in the tank...

He is also the last one out in the morning, and the first one in at night... Usually an hour before both... He sleeps in the sand totally buried... The first time I saw him dig his whole was cool!! He very quickly just vanishes!! :)

Quite normal. Mine would hide for two days, then come out and hide again for another 2 days. After a month he is out daily and only burrows at night.
