Hello, so I need yall's opinions. My tank was set up in January. I didnt add my first fish which was a Yellow Watchman and pistol shrimp pair until april. I then added a ocellaris pair around mid May. July I added a Lawnmower Blenny and have a Yellow Tang on deck in QT for about 3 more weeks. Now looking at the lowsy pics with what I believe to be diatoms on rock, how would you guys say my tank is looking so far. I did cut back my photo period and algae does seem to be receeding but Im not so sure. Forgot to mention the 2 conchs, 3 hermits and 14 or so variety of snails. So I have to ask should I stop with the YT for a little while and let my tank mature some more? Or would it be ok to keep adding fish every month or so until I get to what I think to be about a 10-15 fish max in my system? My tank is 60x32x22, 44x20x16 sump with 20 gal fuge. Carbon reactor vertex omega 150 skimmer. Thanks for your time and input.

You seem to taking it plenty slow already.. I don't see any need to slow it down even more..
I'd toss in the YT and an urchin to help with that algae..

looks like the "new tank uglies" to me.

When you do water changes, I would suggest trying to siphon as much of that stuff up as possible. You may need to use a toothbrush (not yours, maybe your wife's?:hmm4:) to break it loose from the rocks.

You don't mention any water parameters - I'd be interested to know where you stand for Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, and Phosphate. This early in the game, there is no need to test for anything else. (Calcium, Alkalinity, Magnesium) There will be plenty of time down the road to stress out about those!

hth!

Ohh I want to put the YT in so bad. I hate to see it all cramped in my 30g QT! I know they are a bit more sensitive than my other fish so I gotta hold off a bit more unfortunately. I will look at an urchin as well. Havnt even researched those guys yet. Any tips on them?
