Let me know what ya think of our 36 bow

im sorry, but everywhere i have been to says im in spec temp wise for this SH.

hes been in our tank at this temp for about 2-3weeks,in the LFS's tank at the same temp for around a month,he's eating VERY WELL and seems to be very happy..im sorry but i dont see the need for a comment like "Asking for Death".

I'm also sorry to come off the way you made it sound like. But if we are going to take animals out of their natural habitat, why not do it "right" or atleast close as possible.

Keeping your temp that high long term will not be good. They may act fine but they are more likely to aquire a disease at high temps.

Like I said before, I am not trying to bash you, but being a responsible reefer is better than doing something YOU want.

Think about it.

my my my,i see you dont read very well do ya?

I Plainly said IN THIS THREAD that the seahorse wasnt in the "LONG TERM" plan for this reef for the simple fact that we want a Anemone for our clown.your acting like im treating this SH like crap or something..the way i see it the poor SH is living a 1000times better life in our tank then at the LFS..

She was a left over from a batch of saltwater fish that didnt sell very well at this pet store manly for dogs and cats,so the owner is getting out of selling any saltwater stuff but he wanted to give it one last try and put about 50 mean *** Damsels,a hogfish,2 Big clowns and a few other fish in the tank with the SH.the SH only had one little Fake plant to hold onto and was being beat on by just about every fish in the tank, and needless to say he wasnt getting hardly any food..

now you want to inply that im a crapy reefer just because i have the tank on the high side of a SH temp scale?if it wasnt for us buying her,she wouldve been dead 2weeks ago but im the bad reefer?:mad2: :mad2: :eek2: :mad2:

love the aquascaping but I hate to be a downer but maybe you could paint the back of your tank black instead the picture film. As far as your stock, I think people have a affinity to what works in the reef realm but I think after 10 years of this hobby, I've learned one key thing which is that everyone finds their "hit & miss" to be unique to their system. i have a 24 Pod that is strictly a Zoa and was told by many that a sixline wrasse is not compatible, I have it and it's been fine., but in the same vein, try to use the best judgement on compatibility.

Otherwise...great set up, enjoy and keep us updated!

Maybe you need to take a chill pill or take a nap?

Lighten up man, I guess I missed the "long term" part.

I remember reading this thread when it was started and that was like 2 weeks ago, so I must have forgotten it from then.

I guess the main question to you is: How long will he be in the tank?

With a LPS stinging coral (your hammer), a Clarki that are none to get pretty teritorial, and a high temperature.... you didn't exactly "save" the sea horse from your LFS, you just put it in a slighty better but still possibly fatal situation.

i would have to agree with this statement, however, if he is living, eating and seems to be happy then you're doing the right thing.Even in a tank designed to keep SH's they can still die...they are high maintenance animals... keep up the good work...tank looks good btw...

but as i said b4 i dont beleave a hard corals stings are THAT powerfull.
Holy COW that hammer is huge, just wait until it fully extends in a week or two, it'll fill your tank. I don't know much about horses and how they're affected by coral nematocycsts, but just for reference euphyllia corals do have a nasty sting compared to many corals - this is what happens to me when I go anywhere near one:

ACBlinky:WOW that sucks and looks painfull...we have had our fair share of Hammers, anchors,Frogspawn, pearl coral ECT and me or my Girlfriend have never had anything like that.i think the worse thing to happen so far (knock on wood) is a Sebae Anemone grabed on and wouldnt let go of my GF when she was moving it..she said she could feel some stings but they were just tingles..

Maybe your just thined skined?HAHAHA :D ...Thanks for the comp on the Anchor...

LOL well, maybe - I react really strongly to lots of things that live in SW, certainly more than the average reefer. It actually doesn't hurt, it's ITCHY though. That pic was at least three weeks ago and I still have marks. I definitely want to see a picture of that hammer when it opens up :)
