I spent all my summer too build this 40b reef tank and it turns out really nice and i love it :bounce2:. I have seen a few 40b...s around and they are all really neat. If you have 1 ... doesn't matter if it's a FOWLR or still Cycling tank as long as it has salt water in it PLEASE POST PICS.

Here is mine.

To everybody !! yes there was 3 small blue tangs and 1 yellow tang. I'm keeping 1 for some1 that too rush to buy fish when his tank is not cycled yet. I bought 1 for me from Christ (CMcNeil) and it was is his 25 gallon for over a years. The ugly 1 i had to adopt him because the owner took down his tank and nobody wanted it. Luckily, there is someone just come over and take it today for his 90 gallon.

Yellow tang, it's been with me over 2 years i don't want to get rid of it and it's happy in my 40b. Ask people that have seen my tank, all my fishes are happy and FAT.

I admitted that im a noob but trust me, i know the tank size for fishes. I will trade it or sell it when the tangs getting bigger. Please dont ruin this thread.

Anyways, thank you for your comments. and i hope you guys are understands.

That's fine, i think we were all just wondering. Each person's tank is different and what works for you may not work for me :)
The reason I asked is because in the first pic it looked like the first two hippo's on the left were identical. I thought maybe you were using a slow shutter speed and the picture came out wrong.

Yep, that's me! :D
and i'm doing the same thing you're doing. keeping him till he gets too big.. I have no problem with what youre doing :)

Glad to see someone trying to help out a fish too

omg that tang looks HORRIBLE! are you sure that is HLLE?

Yea, looks like one of the hippo's that Chrissu got rid of when his tank crashed & he got out of hobby. Hope it comes around for you...Good luck! I still have the blood shrimp I got from you. Thanks again.

Protein,
That looks like a 40B with the trim removed. If so - be VERY, VERY careful... First the glass is not thick enough for rimless. The bigger problem though is that tank is designed to be a floating bottom tank and needs to rest on the trim to properly support the bottom.
A tank can support vertical loads very well, like a tank hood.
The first person to put their feet on the edge of the coffee table will test the side loads that the thin silicon connection between glass panes will be able to support.

Suffice to say, never in my living room, hope nothing valuable is at ground level.
