I have not mounted the birdsnest on anything yet, and it is doing good in the main display, I still have about 20 more corals to bring down to the rack

Looks great Rogger, what a system specially without bubbles. I am taking notes, thought of something similar but one bottom eggcrate layer with live rock rubble about 2" off the bottom to make easier blowing off detritus and a second layer for frags also but all the way across. Are you planning to extend that shelf? What light are you using?

No I don't plan to extend the eggcrate, I need to put a divider between the rock rubble and the frag rack, so the chaeto can grow on that side.
The light I am using is the one I won at the raffle in Palm Beach, it is a MH 150w HQI DE, it is powered by a Sunlight Supply blue wave HQI ballast and the reflector is the Lumenmax. I have a hamilton 14 k that gives out a crisp blueish tint light. I really light the color of this light, Will see if the corals like it too!
