Mine-Peppermint Shrimp
Added to eat a couple aiptasia. It worked but after that he got a taste for my $200 clams. Somehow he ate them both in 2 days.
$10 shrimp destroyed $200 worth of clam...

Are you sure they weren't camelback shrimp? Although I have heard rarely peppermints doing some shady things. And also are you sure the clams didn't die first due to some parameter issue?

Yeah this was a particularly nasty peppermint, definitely jot a camel, and I caught him after finding the first clam shell empty ripping the flesh from the second off every time it opened. When it closed it ate at the foot. The pieces he ripped off died and got eaten by hermits and he gorged on the rest. He literally murdered it for the sake of it.
I Couldn't save the second clam in time to trap the shrimp. It was ripped from the shell overnight and I had a big fat peppermint sitting in a pop-bottle trap looking smug and satisfied.

Nothing to contribute but a deep suspicion of sexy shrimp. No conclusive proof however...

GREAT thread idea though

Sexies aren't reef safe! I watched as one of mine ripped flesh off a monti digi. They do seem to refrain from coral eating when hosting an anemone and kept well fed, but I'll never get the again.
