let's merge with roanoke.

there was talk before and it got shot down. but those people who were most against it aren't really around anymore so let's bring it up again. i personally see no reason why we shouldn't do a total merge with the roanoke club (if they'll have us).

if you have anything to say, say it quick. i imagine we'll talk about it seriously at the roanoke meeting this weekend.

I'm all for it. What would we call it? It seems like anything with West and Virginia would get us mixed up with another state. My opinion is it should start with Virginia somehow to make it easier for people to find us in the club listings on RC. Most are looking for Virginia and anything else is going to put it in another alphebetical order. Any ideas?? I know we don't want to make us sound like THE Virginia reef club at this point. We should point the others from Roanoke to this thread so we can get some of their Ideas as well. Post the top names in a poll again maybe. Just throwin out ideas here...

I would say South Western Virginia. Otherwise it looks like we are West Virginia and not Virginia. Why not just Western Virginia Reef Club? Is there another to the north of us?

Also I see some of the clubs put the name of the state in front so we'd be Virginia-South Western Virginia Reef Club or Virginia-Western Virginia Reef Club.

Maybe we could just call it Virginia reef club and direct those in the Richmond area and Northern Virginia area to clubs in their area. That way we could pull in the most people and help them find out what club is closest to them. At least we would be easy to find on Reef Central. Michael R

I mentioned that last time and still think it would be a good idea. Some thought the other clubs in Va would take offense to us setting up something like that. I see no reason why they would, but then I'm not from around here

You can have credit for it. I don't want to offend other clubs by doing this but we have to do something like this to be easy to find on RC. We could easily call ourself anyting if it would be placed under the Virginia category on RC but there is not a Virginia category on RC. We would be helping the other clubs by making it easy to find one Virginia reef club and then redirecting anyone out of the area to something closer to them. How about Virginia Valley Reef Club? That would go with New River Valley and the Roanoke Valley areas. We just need something short and sweet with Virginia in the beginning. Hey Chris, I get credit if it is the Virginia Valley Reef Club. Just kidding I don't care. Michael R

Na, I'm not trying to name the club. Lets get some different names from everyone and do a poll like last time. Except this time lets do something with it We need some more peeps to chime in.

I'm going to throw in Virginia Reef Society as my name just to be different I think that's what I put in last time. To me Society sounds like several clubs getting together. I'd have to find a dictionary to see what it actually means.
