Rats, So the bubbles don't have anything to do with being fed recently. That was just to simple an explanation to be true.

Nope, no one knows why some clones lose bubble tips in captivity and some don't (I've had clones in different tanks that some had BT and some didn't).

I'll second that. I pulled six out of the 90g tank below and put them in a 22g long with PC lights and they all bubbled right up. My clones have never bubbled under MH lights. The one thing I would say about the six is that they are not nearly as happy as they were in the 90g. At least 2 float around the tank at night after the lights go out. All are very heavily feed. The 90g has one Rod's Onyx ath only occupies one RBTA on the far side of the tanks. The 22g does not have any clowns.

Calvin, beautiful tank! How do you feed all those anemones? How many are there?

Jill

Thanks...
Just dump some frozen PE Mysis in the tank and they get what the clow doesn't. No direct feeding.

Hard to say, at leat 30.

Landy,
Are all of the rose bubbletip anemones we see, are they all split from the large anemone that is in the front of the tank.

Yes, they are all clones. But I have no idea which was the original. I keep 10 to 15 in the DT, and 4-8 in the sump. When I catch one "on the move" in the DT, I take him out, cut in 2 or 3 pieces then throw them in the sump. When too many rbta’s are in the sump, its time to sell or trade.

Here is how I started my RBTA farm. I set up in a 40b with an 8x39w TEK light. I started the tank in February, and have been doing this to my anemone every 4-6 weeks. Have 6 RBTAs right now (have sold 3) and 4 GBTAs (have sold one) right now. Currently setting up a new tank for the Ritteri anemone that I just got last weekend. Let her settle in for a month, then she will get the same as the BTAs.

I'm doing the same thing. I quartered one about a month ago and all survived. Have you tried that yet?
