Here is mine:

This is a female Heteractis crispa (one of the 'sebae' anemones). She is roughly 24" (size is variable--sometimes a bit more, sometimes less). She has been in my care for roughly 11 years.

I love all the pics, but I was curious, how do you know it's a female? I've read that these are male or female, but I don't remember reading how to tell the difference. I have an h. crispa and would love to know if we have a boy or girl.
Also, I love the purple sebaes! I have to admit, I'm a little jealous. Mine is the beige color, and purple is my favorite color! These look great! I wonder if I can get a picture of mine uploaded. I'll have to look into that![]()
Alright, so I'm not missing anything<a href=showthread.php?s=&postid=7594702#post7594702 target=_blank>Originally posted</a> by Amphiprion
It would be neat to know an external difference, but the only reason I know it is a female is because she spawns relentlessly. I have to do major water changes after each spawn and it smells up the whole house. It is not uncommon for her to release eggs at least 2-3 times per year and she has been doing it for the past ten years. Some pics in my gallery of the events--not very good, though.
